Poem by My Best Friend!

Thursday, May 29, 2008 Posted In Edit This
My best friend P (first one to read the posts on this blog) just rang me up and said that as soon as she read the previous post regarding rain, she was inspired to write a poem. And guess what, she wrote it within 5 minutes and read it out to me. You have got talents Girl! Keep it up! Here's her poem:

Sunny sky twinkles,
Humid tingles,
Hours fleets,
Journey persists,
In search of
RAIN
On a sunny day,
MOON
On a moonless night,
Assorted dreams,
Full of questions,
With a smile,
Or a tear.
Yeap!!
Its ____ !
Yeah, that’s a blank at the end of the poem and she asked me to fill in the blank. I got it. Did you understand what she’s talking about? Leave in your answers in the Comments section and let's see who comes up with the right answer.

At the end of our conversation, she said, “I am so happy! After loooooong, I wrote a poem :-) Thanks buddy!
And it made my day! Thanks to you, Sweetie :-)
Kalli walli to humidity!

It's Humid Outside :-(

Thursday, May 29, 2008 Posted In Edit This

As usual, woke up and got ready for work excited that it’s Thursday….... :-) woohoooo finally it's the weekend! The moment I got out of my apartment, the next thing I wanted to do was run back inside and go and sit in the fridge. Yuck! It’s so humid outisde! And it’s horrible. All the excitement vanished in a jiffy. I hate humidity (who likes it anyway). We get so sticky-sticky, sweaty and smelly. The odor outside was horrible which literally made me vomit.

Sheeeeeeshhhhhhh..........I wish it would rain in this hot desert.......

I just love the rain...

I love....

...the feel of rain on my face...

...the sound of rain (is there anything more musical than it !?!?)...

...the cool breeze...

...the lovely aroma of wet soil...

...the RAINBOW...

Aaahh!!! It’s so refreshing!!! (except the thunder and the lightning, I’m damn scared of it)

A perfect time to sit back and relax, looking out of the window, sipping a cup of hot coffee/tea/soup.......

And...

YALLAAA..................

STOP DREAMING! AND GET BACK TO WORK!!! ;-)

Just received this mail seconds after I published the previous post. Its from my friend M. The wordings on the picture says "Some joys are better expressed in silence as a smile holds more meaning than words. I was asked if i enjoy having you in my life... I just smiled!"
How sweet of you M! Thank you so much!

How Lucky I Am!

I usually commute to work in a private mini-bus. Today, as usual, I was in the bus heading to work and I happened to sit near a girl. After some time, I started up a conversation with her and we began to speak about our former schools and colleges, then work, then family, etc... and there came a moment when I could speak nothing. I ran out of words and didn't know how to respond.

....

Me: Where are you working?

She: Im working <at so and so company>. And u?

Me: <at so and so company>. Where are your parents working?

She: My mom works <at so and so place> and my dad is no more.

....

I was slightly shocked to hear those last words that came out of her mouth, but I pretended as if everything was normal and changed the topic. That's when I realised (second time in my life) that how fortunate and lucky I am to have my parents around me (not that i never knew it). The first time this feeling dawned on me was when I met another girl few years back (now my Best Friend; love ya so much) in the same bus and came to know that she had lost both of her parents and that too when she was so young. (She is engaged now and will be tying the knots soon....Congrats Girl!)

Sometimes we take everyone as granted. But we never realise their importance unless and, ofcourse, when they are not with us. I just love my parents more now. And I am really blessed to have such wonderful parents. So are you! So take a moment off to express how much your parents, your hubby, your wife, your children, brothers, sisters, friends, and other dear and ones means to you.

*Thank you so much Dad and Mom for everything and love you both soooo muchhhhhh!

*And by the way I have a very cuteeeeeeee brother, love ya so much tooooooooo! Mu'aaaahhhhhhh...

*To my wonderful best friends C, H, M, P, P, S, S, S....thank u so much for being with me thru good and bad times and u people mean so much to me!
*To all the other friends... thank u for everything!

*To all the amazing people out there whom I know or don't know, keep smiling always :-)

Read at 248AM that someone experienced 6 hours of power cut! Don't tell me the nightmare started......... Re-appearing of Tarsheed meters, repeatitive phone calls from Tarsheed, irritating SMSes.......sheeeeeeeshhh! I don't want to go through it all again. Afternoons are very hot with temperatures soaring upto 50 degrees and it will be more during the next few months. How in the world are we going to survive this? The Kuwait government does have money, can't they do something regarding this? Should we run off to Dubai? I pray that it was just a maintenance problem at that person's area.

I Love Salads!

Sunday, May 25, 2008 Posted In Edit This
I just love salads. It's so healthy and is a good substitute for fast foods. The aroma is so refreshing. Yummmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Here's a simple salad.
Ingredients:
Cucumber, capsicum, tomato, lettuce, carrot (any vegetables of your choice), lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), Knorr salad dressing mix.

Method:
Wash the vegetables thoroughly. Cut all the veggies into small dices. Add EVOO + lemon juice + Knorr salad dressing mix. Toss it up and its ready to serve.

Note:
Knorr salad dressing mix is available in Kuwait in 3 different seasonings : Vinegar, Paprika, and Thousand Islands. I usually use vinegar flavor. It is available in supermarkets all over Kuwait. I don't insist that you have to use Knorr, it's upto you ;-)

This is how the paprika seasoning sachet looks like (searched over the net and got a german version)...

Look at the top edge of the second picture. You can almost see the turn of the earth. It seems the people who work on the upper floors of Burj Dubai can see the rotation of Earth!!!
